President Obama Announces Bin Laden’s Demise

9/11 mastermind and Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden has been killed. President Obama announced this last night.  The  effort was carried out by a JSOC (Joint Special Operations Command) in Pakistan at the President’s authorization.  After nearly ten years, the man responsible for the death of 3,000 people has finally been brought to justice.

Late last night, when the announcement was made, crowds of people amassed outside the White House in jubilation. This morning, there are reports of similar things happening at Ground Zero here in New York. Now that the Al-Qaeda leader is no more, it means that there will be somewhat of a higher vigilance required. Anti-terrorism officials are saying that there may be attempts at retaliation by the splintered organization.  The President cautioned the entire nation that the efforts to curb terrorism around the world do not end with this recent development. While this is definitely a game-changer, the full effects are yet to be seen.

  1. Absolutely! One of my first thoughts were of retaliation! Living in Manhattan is a risk in and of itself! I have faith, though. God knows the beginning, middle and end of all of this. I trust Him! Thanks for posting this!

  2. Thanks Aisha! I wanted to drop this real quick. I think we are in for a rough road ahead. These international conflicts will not end.

  3. terrorists were already trying to attack us, so this changes nothing about their motives. at least we’re the ones doing the hitting this time instead of responding to what they do.
